Have you ever wanted to learn how to compost?

Join us on Friday, September 30th for a composting workshop in The Penguin Patch (PBE's garden) from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. All participants will enter the school through the Fig Tree gate.

This is an adult only event and open to all PBE families.

Purchase tickets on campus in front of the marquee before and after school every day this week. Space is limited, so get your tickets now! Tickets are $20 per person and this is an adult only event open to all PBE families. Food will be provided by @freshiisandiego. All proceeds benefit FOPBE.

Literacy is an important part of the curriculum fo

Literacy is an important part of the curriculum for our students at PBE. To help encourage reading with our students, we thought it would be fun to share the favorite children's books of our PBE teachers and staff.

This is Ms. Arthur. She's one of our UTK teachers and this is her second year teaching at PBE. We asked Ms. Arthur to share her favorite children's book with us and she chose Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Here's why:

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault is my favorite to read in the classroom because of all the bright colors and fun rhymes. The story includes all of the letters in the alphabet as they try to beat each other to the top of a coconut tree. It's a great book to develop a young reader's phonemic awareness and letter recognition. This classic is definitely one that my students ask to go back to again and again!

Ms. Arthur's favorite part of the book is when all of the letters fall out of the tree. Has anyone else read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom? Is it one of your favorites as well?

FOPBE is proud to offer a broad array of programming, including science enrichment by acclaimed San Diego Youth Science and YMCA programming for weekly physical education for every student and playground facilitators through Whole Child Learning to make the school's expansive campus a safe and fun place during recess and lunch. FOPBE also provides discretionary funds for every teacher, a week-long children's theatre production, funding for a school garden, an art instruction program, and supports community events throughout the school year. In short, FOPBE helps make PBE the amazing school that it is!

FOPBE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and California Public Benefit Corporation. Donations to FOPBE's general fund through a Corporate Sponsorship support critical enrichment programming for the school's students and needed support to its dedicated teaching staff and administrators.

Future Bucs Night is a community event that brings

Future Bucs Night is a community event that brings all of the Mission Bay Cluster schools together to cheer on the Bucs!

This year, Future Bucs Night is on Friday, September 23rd.

Game tickets must be purchased online in advance at https://gofan.co/app/events/671365?schoolId=CA22810. There will be free admission for kids to all regular season home games, including Future Bucs Night, with the purchase of a Future Buccaneers t-shirt before the game. See details on ordering a t-shirt in the post photo.
